CLASSES IN YORKTON

ACTING
Technique Class

Create characters and acting skills in partners and small groups. Structured environment. Technique classes explore different themes and activities each 
semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production.

COLLECTIVE CREATION
Technique Class

Create character interactions and scenes in groups. Free-flowing environment. Technique classes explore different themes and activities each semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production.

IMPROVISATION
Auxiliary Class

The art of “making it up as you go along.” Actors perform in the Year End Production.

DRAMATIC ACTING
Auxiliary Class

Strengthen the ability to play intense, emotional, dark characters. Auxiliary classes explore different themes and activities each semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production.

LITTLE PRETENDERS
Technique Class

Wee ones leap into the world of imagination and explore acting, improvisation and voice. Ages 2 – 4.

ENSEMBLE
Performance Class (September to April)

A performance-based class for youth actors to develop performance skills and perform a production piece for family and friends. Must be enrolled in at least one other class. Ages 10 – 17.

MONOLOGUES
Performance Class (September to December and January to May)

One on One exploration of Acting where students develop a monologue/solo scene to perform. Spaces are booked in weekly half-hour time slots. Ages 3 – Adult. All experience levels welcome.

DUOLOGUES
Performance Class (September to December and January to May)

One on Two exploration of Acting where students develop a scene to perform. Spaces are booked in weekly 45 minute sessions and Duologue Partnerships must be approved by the Studio. This is great opportunity for friends, siblings and actors who love working together and want more individualized training. Ages 7 – Adult.

SPEECH
Technique Class (September to May)

One on One where Students (not necessarily Actors) work on their Speech and Language development and concerns with our experienced Instructor, Miss Katie Pengilly. Ages 3 – 18.

PLAY PRODUCTION
Performance Class (September to December and January to May)

Play Production is a collectively created and produced large-scale youth play production. Ages 7-16. STUDENTS NEW TO PLAY PRODUCTION ARE REQUIRED TO ALSO REGISTER IN AN ADDITIONAL CLASS.

SINGING & VOICE WITH KATIE MORGAN
Optional Performance Class (September to May)

Times are booked individually for half-hour weekly classes.

The one-on-one exploration of Musical Theatre and Contemporary Music. Students will experience singing in a safe, fun, and educational environment with Miss Katie bringing her love of singing to first-time singers as well as her experience and talent to students with extra experience. Singers will have the option to perform in our Spring Showcase. Contact the studio for available spots. Ages 5 – 16.

MUSICAL THEATRE
Performance Class

Students explore the glorious world of Musical Theatre through singing, characters, acting, movement and charactography. Class performs in the Year End Production. Instructed by Miss Katie Morgan. Ages 7-15.

Create characters and acting skills in partners and small groups while exploring the games and tools of Improvisation. Structured environment. Technique classes explore different themes and activities each semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production in Yorkton. Ages 10 – 13.

SENIOR ACTING & IMPROV
Technique Class (September to May)

Create characters and acting skills in partners and small groups while exploring the games and tools of Improvisation. Structured environment. Technique classes explore different themes and activities each semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production in Yorkton. Ages 14 – 18.

ADVANCED ACTING
Technique Class (September to May)

Experienced Actors are challenged in Comedic Acting, Dramatic Acting, Improvisation and Performance. Actors perform in the Year End Production in Yorkton. By recommendation or audition. Must be in an additional class.

ACTING & IMPROVISATION C
Technique Class (September to May)

Create characters and acting skills in partners and small groups while exploring the games and tools of Improvisation. Structured environment. Technique classes explore different themes and activities each semester. Actors perform in the Year End Production in Yorkton. Ages 13 – 16.

PLAY PRODUCTION
Performance Class (September to December)

Play Production is a collectively created and produced large scale youth play production. Additional rental fees will be part of the production. Family discount available. Ages 7-16. HIGH COMMITMENT – MUST ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS. MUST BE REGISTERED IN ACTING.
